    What you'll do

    The Promotional Programs marketing team manages the creative strategy and execution of Canadian Tire's weekly flyer. Reaching millions of Canadians each week via print and digital channels, the weekly flyer showcases Canadian Tire's best products, sales, brands, and corporate initiatives to help customers navigate the jobs & joys of being Canadian. As a Promotional Programs Consultant, you would be accountable for developing customer centric promotional strategies, governing the weekly flyer creative strategy for a designated business portfolio, and working cross functionally with internal and external stakeholders to bring promotional plans to life.

    In this role, you will:

    • Obtain and understand CTR merchandising & marketing priorities to incorporate into the weekly flyer
    • Define specific customer facing themes that adhere to the flyer calendar and category objectives, as well as identify divisional micro-seasons
    • Translate themes from flyer calendar into customer facing page layouts and creative guidelines
    • Work with Marketing Promo Planning team to manage overall page layout, pagination and flow of the flyer as content is populated
    • Write creative briefs on promotional initiatives, campaigns and planned events to support the content in the flyer as well as other media channels
    • Work directly with production and creative teams on print & digital flyer execution
    • Manage ongoing content and space changes by working collaboratively with key stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain integrity of the overall flyer
    • Complete in season post-mortem analysis and provide future recommendations as well as understand the competitive landscape as it pertains to the business portfolio
    • Using consumer insights and data analytics to develop customer facing flyer layouts for each product category
    • Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships, including Merchandising AVPs, Category Business Managers, the Promotional Planning team, Production, Creative and Corporate teams
    • Lead the development of new and improvement of existing processes of flyer planning and production

    What you bring

    • University Degree preferably in Business/ Marketing
    • 1-2 years experience in merchandising, marketing and/or advertising
    • Excellent organizational skills with the proven ability to effectively balance competing projects/demands
    • An exceptional communicator, with the ability to engage, influence, inspire partners to drive collaboration and alignment
    • Strong attention to detail, driving the highest of quality standards through keeping a focus on the end consumer
    • Analytical skills with the ability to evaluate alternatives, draw conclusions and make recommendations
    • Ability to deal with ambiguity and make recommendations with limited direction, within an approved framework
    • Knowledge of promotional planning principles, techniques and proven approaches
    • Demonstrated presentation, report writing, and communication skills
    • Ability to establish rapport with others and build relationships that are beneficial in achieving work-related goals
    • Knowledge of Canadian Tire family of companies and/or store environments an asset
