  • As the Fuel and Flex Fleet Technician, you will ensure continuous service of Flex Fleet and Corporate Fuel Management through maintenance, monitoring and continual improvement. You will provide onsite technical support and systems support for users of Flex Fleet, a corporate car share program. You will also be accountable for the safe maintenance, operational support, and fuel ordering for all Corporate Fuel sites.

Primary duties include:


Coordinate and provide the maintenance and continuous monitoring of Fuel sites and Flex Fleet assets to ensure optimal operation for all Business Units.

Conduct onsite field inspections with records of deficiencies to be serviced.
Provide on-call or emergency support for essential services that are in need of fuel services.
Coordinate internal and external contractors to provide technological, mechanical, and/or electrical services.
Conduct housekeeping activities at the fuel sites ensuring safety and cleanliness for optimized use, especially during adverse weather conditions.
Coordinate maintenance and perform inspections of Flex Fleet assets and EV charging stations.
Complete operational administrative tasks that support corporate Business Units in setting up staff and assets in Corporate systems.
Manage Business Unit inquiries, concerns, and fuel and/or Flex Fleet requests.
Support Leader in ongoing activities and projects, serving as the Subject Matter Expert for fuel and Flex Fleet.
Support and instill confidence in continuing service for Fuel and Flex Fleet.
Stay up to date with environmental requirements and Corporate policies and procedures related to fuel.

Qualifications
***A High School Diploma or equivalent (i.e., GED), Project Management certificate or equivalent, and at least 5 years of experience in an environment that supports fuel operations.
Fuel Spill/Emergency training and Veeder Root training are required.

A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalency) with no more than 6 demerits OR a Class 5 Graduated Driver's License (GDL) with no more than 4 demerits, and no current charges or suspension pending is required.

Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Excel is required.
Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) training and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training are assets.
Possession of Standard First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) level "C" certifications is an asset.
Experience using M5, PeopleSoft/FSCM, and SDMS is an asset.

Effective communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, combined with sound judgment in safety standards and the ability to prioritize tasks will be essential for success in this position.

Working Conditions:This position requires the ability to lift up to 20 kg and is frequently exposed to: all weather conditions; slippery conditions on ladders and tanks; dirt, dust, vehicular traffic, needles, and sharp objects in refuse containers; odours from diesel and unleaded fumes.


Pre-employment RequirementsMust obtain a City of Calgary operator's permit.
Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.

Failure to pass a pre-employment drug test may prevent an applicant from being hired into any safety sensitive position for a period of up to twelve months.
