ABOUT THE JOB


The Manufacturing Technician is a key production team member who performs the assembly and/or testing of NHC's products with oversight of team members and training.

They perform their process based upon standard work and material kits that are used for quality product assembly.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead training and daily management of production requirements for Manufacturing Assembly.
  • Learn the EPICOR ERP basic functions to complete job inputting (allocate material, log time into system and close out jobs as they complete).
  • Must be able to read, understand and follow instructions to complete assembly of product as written on the standard work documents.
  • Complete setup/hookup for testing, perform functional tests, and complete disconnect of assemble units as required
  • Strong 5S workplace organization principles and always keep your workplace organized and clean
  • Follow all safety standards as spelled out in standard work and set by the facility management
  • Wear appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment, including respirator at times) for the specific job you are performing.
  • Preference given to experience with Safe operation of Overhead Cranes and Tow Motor.
  • Perform quality checks on the product as spelled out in the work instruction. When a quality inspector verification is needed, do not proceed until the check is complete and passed
  • Report any unsafe or possibly unsafe act, situation, or equipment condition and use the "STOP WORK AUTHORITY" to halt an operation. Engage the plant HSE team. The operation should not be restarted until the HSE representative approves the restart
  • Notify quality representative when a part or assembly is out of specification or is damaged this part/assembly should be quarantined until released by engineering and or quality

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 12 years' experience in light assembly and/or testing manufactured products with simple use of computers.
  • Strong mechanical/millwright mindset.
  • Experience with overhead cranes/hoists & tow motors/forklifts.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Good eye/hand coordination with high finger/hand dexterity.
  • Some experience with ERP systems and/or an IT system for order management and fulfillment
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and quality management systems
  • Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Willing to work 2nd shift as production needs grow in the company.

Education:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Technician or associate degree preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Frequent bending, lifting, stooping, pushing, reaching and standing for long periods of time
  • Light Lifting (occasional 25 lbs or less), Heavy Lifting (occasional 25 lbs +)
  • High level of hand dexterity; ability to handle very small parts with manual precision
  • Some evening, weekend and/or shift work maybe required to meet established timelines

Salary:
$22.00-$25.00 per hour
