    Overview

    Lafarge is recruiting a Truck Transport Technician for a permanent position located at our Oak Bluff
    Location. The Heavy Duty Mechanic s are responsible for equipment used in all areas of the operation. A high level
    of safety practices must be used at all times.

    Responsibilities:

  • Preventative maintenance service
  • General equipment and vehicle repairs
  • Maintain paper and electronic records
  • Diagnose and repair equipment and vehicle deficiencies
  • Maintain shop equipment
  • In field equipment service and repair
  • General safety in and around equipment and operating plant
  • Reporting unsafe job sites and procedures
  • Maintain a positive image to the customers and the general public
  • Ability to plan work and self-direct
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Qualifications:

  • Truck transport technician pre-employment course.
  • A valid class 3 driver's license with air brake endorsement is preferred.
  • Preferred Skills:

  • Able to read and understand schematics
  • Use of computer-aided diagnosis tools
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulics and electrical systems
  • Diagnose and repair engine and power train issues
  • Experience with Cummins and Paccar Engines
  • Ability to read and complete work orders
  • Ability to perform small welding repairs
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work overtime and shift work as needed
  • The working environment is indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.

    Must have own hand tools.
