This position is a part of the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA).
In accordance with the Temporary Librarian, Administrative and Professional Officer (TLAPO) Agreement, this position is an initial appointment of 3 years and offers a comprehensive benefits package found at Faculty & Staff Benefits and annual salary range of $66,730 to $111,144
Location - North Campus Edmonton. This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person.

Position
Reporting to the Academic Programs Manager, this position provides planning, monitoring, and managing of specific initiatives and projects from initiation through completion.
This role supports multiple area-wide initiatives with varying completion dates, focused primarily on the development of academic program proposals including the development of new programs and the renewal of existing programs, both at the Undergraduate and Graduate levels.

Duties
Project/Initiative Manager
- Manages faculty level projects and initiatives as assigned by the Academic Programs Manager.
- Develops and manages a project work plan for the area/faculty, including prioritizing projects. Initiates, maintains, tracks, communicates and manages an issues and priorities list.
- Researches, writes, and/or edits proposals, recommendations, reports and other documents
- Facilitates and presents proposals, recommendations, reports, and other documents through the university governance systems.
- Responds to major changes or issues currently affecting or potentially affecting the faculty.
- Completes environmental scans, best practice reviews and assessments of risks and opportunities. Identifies key issues and clarifies & defines problems while providing recommended solutions.
- Leads Facultylevel program initiatives including the development of new programs (firstlevel specializations) and options (secondlevel specializations)
- Supports, from a Faculty perspective, departmental program development and renewal, advises departmental teams of best practices and requirements for consultation, research, and documentation.
- Ensures effective consultation between departments within Engineering as well as outside of Engineering including the Provost's Office, the College of Natural and Applied Sciences, and other Faculties within and outside of the college.
- Works collaboratively with the Undergraduate Programs & Planning Officer to support the upcoming CEAB (Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board) Accreditation visit for 202
- Focuses on supporting the academic departments with Engineering by developing training materials to support data collection & preparation.
- Delivers training to academic departments as required.
- Supports document preparation as required.
