    Description

    SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team. The Engineer, Pipeline Engineering provides engineering services and project leadership to support the planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance, enhancement, and expansion of SaskEnergy's pipeline systems in a safe, reliable, and cost-effective manner. This includes the application of sound engineering and industry principles, standards, practices, and technology, as well as identification and recommendation of effective business solutions to support departmental and corporate objectives.

    Position Details

  • Non-union. This position is permanent full time.
  • Key Accountabilities

  • Prepare, review, and approve assigned engineering designs, standards, and specifications associated with SaskEnergy's pipeline systems while ensuring safety, quality, and corporate standards are met.
  • Support the delivery of optimized systems and project design using analysis, engineering assessments and other technical measures.
  • Manage projects and programs through engineering design, construction, procurement and commissioning to meet quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
  • Provide technical support through the application of engineering principles in the investigation, analysis, and resolution of pipeline issues.
  • Provide recommendations for future enhancement based on analysis of current and projected requirements to enhance the delivery of engineering services meeting long-term and corporate strategic plans.
  • Support the evaluation, development, recommendation and implementation of new technology, products, standards, procedures, processes and specifications, ensuring appropriate change management and compliance with industry standards and specifications.
  • Professionally represent SaskEnergy on internal and/or external technical committees to maintain an awareness of industry development, best practices, new technology and products.
  • Provide technical support relative to the delivery of engineering services.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Industrial, Petroleum, Environmental or Metallurgical preferred, others may also be considered).
  • Professional Engineer designation registered to practice in Saskatchewan.
  • Five (5) years of progressive experience, which preferably includes engineering experience related to pipelines and/or facilities in the oil and gas industry.
  • Effective working knowledge and understanding of natural gas industry practices and associated standards, codes and associated regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work on a team while building and maintaining effective relationships.
  • Must have a continuing record of professional development and continuous learning.
  • A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.

    Additional Information

  • Travel, including overnight stays away from bid headquarters, is required on occasion.
  • A Class 5 Driver's License is required.
