    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    As the General Manager, FP&A, you will play an integral part in the ongoing development and maintenance of the Authority's budgeting, planning, and forecasting capabilities to improve effectiveness and efficiency, and to create meaningful insights and analysis to support senior management's strategic planning and decision making. This function will lead a team of finance professionals who play a key business partnership role across the enterprise, providing decision support as well as timely, relevant, and accurate management reporting.

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    With input from business stakeholders, drive the timely and accurate preparation and submission of:

    • The Authority's multi-year plan, including quantitative and qualitative analysis.
    • Annual budget, including all Executive and Board materials.
    • Quarterly and annual outlook and updates (rolling forecasts), including quantitative and qualitative analysis and comparison of actual to budget and forecast at the Enterprise and Divisional levels.
    • Preparation of the quarterly and Annual MD&A and supporting internal and Board management reporting, including variance explanations for financial and non-financial results and key performance indicators.
    • Preparation of Quarterly and Annual Management Reports; includes in depth analysis and supporting documentation.
    • Preparation of various presentation (i.e., A&FC, Board, ACC meeting, etc)
    • Preparation and distribution of monthly Flash Report (with commentary)
    • Assist with the preparation of the Annual Report and ESG Reporting
    • Partner with Accounting and Operations to conduct scenario, what-if and ad-hoc analyses to provide management with a current perspective on the Authority's financial outlook and various operational issues and opportunities.
    • Review, analyze and understand the Authority's business, including operational complexities to appreciate and anticipate business issues and results that are triggered by changes to key inputs to the long-range plan or budget, including both internal and external factors. Understand and analyze the Authority's position and trends against industry.
    • Develop and maintain business case templates to support decision making and resource allocation with appropriate financial modelling (including Due Diligence Reports); Support rate setting and major initiatives.
    • Preparation of monthly Business Review Report.
    • Strong business partnership through the budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling processes of the revenue generating divisions and cost centres through clear understanding of the key business drivers and relevant accounting and financial concepts. This includes annual budgets and monthly rolling forecast updates.
    • Identify and provide insights to financial, industry, trends and provide data-driven recommendations to the business.
    • Provide quality, insightful management reports for a variety stakeholder including business unit leaders, Executive and Board of Directors.
    • Support the preparation and reporting of external benchmarking (CAIS and ACI)
    • Support the continuous development and improvement of systems to improve productivity.
    • Manage team performance and provide coaching, training and development opportunities ensuring a strong team culture and effectiveness.

    WHAT YOU BRING

    • Post-secondary education in Commerce, Finance, Accounting or Business Analysis.
    • Recognized accounting designation (CPA) and/or MBA.
    • 7+ years of relevant experience in FP&A corporate planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
    • Minimum of 8 years' experience at a managerial/leadership level. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-functioning team.
    • Strong leadership experience, providing coaching, mentoring and guidance to teams of professional finance analysts.
    • Business partnership strength, able to influence and shape business decisions.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration.
    • Proven record of exercising sound business judgement and for being a decisive team player with solid interpersonal skills.
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
    • Strong business acumen combined with outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Results-oriented with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
