YOUR ROLE
As our _yard shunter_, you will be called to operate trailers and vans, as well as provide mechanical verification. Your role is to ensure that truckers locate their trailers in a timely manner. To do this, you will be in regular communication with the container stacker and forklift operators in the yard. You will also be called upon daily to track trailer and chassis inventory and perform any other related tasks.

  • Note: This Job Description may not encompass the entire scope of this role, as other duties maybe assigned by management._
  • High school diploma preferred;
  • Class 1 or 3, driving record in good standing;
  • Experience driving heavy machinery is an asset
    ;:
  • Must have good communication skills in order to work efficiently as a team;
  • All of the above major duties and responsibilities require the ability to be mobile in an industrial environment, including being able to lift 50 lbs, sit for long periods, ride and get off trailers and chassis, etc.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

  • Starting at $ 23/hour, according to experience
  • Possibility for inhouse training, to operate container stackers, as applicable
