Job summary
Duties & Responsibilities: Performs regular patrolling of hospital premises ensuring protection of Hospital building property and occupants walks/stands during 12 hour shift detects corrects fire safety hazards prepares written reports on all activities investigates complaints from patients staff visitors concerning thefts injury break-ins etc responds to assistance calls including fire alarms bomb threats violent persons missing patients building evacuations help alarms security escorts etc interacts with staff patients visitors in positive customer service oriented manner enforces safety security regulations according to Hospital departmental policies.
- Graduate of recognized 2 year community college program in Law Enforcement Security Police/Military Academy preferred equivalent combination education training experience considered Previous experience in Healthcare Security asset Knowledge computer software applications Windows environment Excellent communication interpersonal problem solving skills de-escalation techniques demonstrated ability assess diffuse situations emergency situation punctual acceptable attendance record Prospective candidates selection submit RCMP criminal background check completed IAHSS basic advanced level certification within months hire valid license Ontario private security investigative services pass hospitals approved training program use force handcuffing defensive batons within months hire
