PCL is looking for an experienced Marketing Manager who - reporting directly to the Director of Marketing for Canada - will oversee, lead and implemented targeted and strategic marketing initiatives to support our Canadian operations.

We are looking for an experienced people manager, strategic thinker, content development specialist, and pursuit/proposal savvy writer and storyteller; someone who can utilize their integrated and broad-based marketing and communication capabilities to develop strategies and content that connects with clients and differentiates PCL within the industry.

In the role of Marketing Manager Canadian Buildings, you will collaborate closely with a diverse corporate MarComm team as well as liaise actively with Canadian district marketing leads to elevate PCL's brand in selected markets (i.e. Solar, Civil, Sustainability and Buildings sectors) through the development and implementation of Integrated Marketing and Communication Plans.


Although this role is heavily centered on integrated Marketing + Communications planning, implementation and content creation, it may also include providing strategic input and content development support to district pursuit and proposal teams.

Accordingly, familiarity or direct experience with proposal development is an asset.

You're a multi-talented senior marketing professional with broad and diverse experience across all facets of integrated marketing and communications.

Additionally, you are a strong and passionate content creator (text and graphics) who can connect with and engage all audiences.

Whether it's a compelling blog or social media post, technical product copy or white papers, or compelling client-focused content for marketing brochures, presentations or proposals, your ability to communicate clearly and professionally is exceptional.

Importantly, you are a people person and a strong collaborator who values a plurality of perspectives.

As a manager, you prioritize the training, development, engagement and recognition of your direct reports, working as a leader and mentor to cultivate and retain top talent.

Here's how a Marketing Manager for our Edmonton NAHQ office contributes to our team:

  • Develops and leads a high-performance team of diverse MarComm professionals.
  • Develops, manages and implements strategic content across all marketing mediums including web, print, advertising, video, social media and proposals.
  • Gains deep comprehension and knowledge of PCL's corporate and district core operations and strategic business development objectives and integrates them into related Canadian Buildings marketing strategies and plans.
  • Creates integrated marketing and communications plans and ensures they are strategic, comprehensive and measurable. Leads implementation, evaluation and measurement of marketing initiatives.
  • Creates effective strategies, plans and/or campaigns focused on supporting sector strategic plans to elevate PCL's brand and prime the marketplace with impactful content.
  • Manages creative/graphic content creation to ensure marketing objectives are achieved in line with branding principles, business needs and the broader corporate/region/sector/ district strategies.
  • Evaluates, selects, and manages external vendors and partners and related budgets when required.
  • Collaborates with district proposal managers as needed and supports/leads win strategy development for key proposals.
  • Develops executivelevel reporting and/or presentations to engage and inform regional and corporate decision makers regarding progress, value and impact of Canadian Buildings marketing strategies and deliverables.

Qualifications:


  • 10 years of progressive experience in marketing including a minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in marketing, communications, journalism, or equivalent.
  • Personable, strong collaborator eager to work in a highperformance team environment
  • Competent broadbased knowledge of and experience with web, social media and digital marketing contentmanagement strategies/plans.
