Description

As a training instructor at Sentry Fire Protection Services, you'll be responsible for scheduling and delivering training programs to employees at all levels of the organization as well as clients.

You'll need to be able to assess training needs and deliver training that is engaging and effective. You should also be able to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for improvements.

You will have a responsibility to establish and maintain a civil, productive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.

As an Instructor you are responsible for providing accurate and timely information about courses to prospective employees, current employees, and clients.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Schedule and deliver training programs on a variety of topics
  • Maintain instructional materials such as course handouts, job aids, elearning modules, and multimedia presentations
  • Select and administer training methods such as individual coaching, group instruction, lectures, roleplaying, simulations, webbased learning, and workshops
  • Conduct orientation sessions for new hires, organizing, and conducting training programs for new employees in conjunction with human resources staff
  • Prepare, administer, and mark tests and papers to evaluate student progress
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for improvement
  • Keep abreast of new trends and developments in the field of training and development
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that training programs are aligned with company objectives
  • Ensuring that all employees are trained in accordance with industry standards and regulations
  • Supervise, schedule, and provide guidance to junior instructors
  • Perform administrative duties such as scheduling classes, ordering supplies, and preparing reports
  • Scheduling and overseeing classroom instruction
  • Maintaining attendance records during training sessions to ensure that all employees attend

Professionalism:_Professionalism is another skill that can help you be an effective training instructor. You should be able to maintain a professional attitude at all times, even when you are dealing with challenging situations.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience designing and delivering training programs
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Ability to develop creative and engaging learning experiences
  • Strong timemanagement and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and eLearning authoring software

Work Conditions
Most technical instruction takes place in classroom settings, but some instruction may take place on the job site. As with all careers in the Emergency Service industry, safety is the top priority.

While on site or other job sites, technical instructors must be aware of and comply with all relevant safety policy and procedures.
