    Reporting to the Procurement Team Lead, the Junior Procurement Specialist is responsible for supporting our Utilities Procurement team in all purchasing related activities. This person will also ensure the timely receipt of goods in SAP, as well as tracking deliveries and returns of rental equipment. This position acts as a liaison between departments and field workers and must possess strong knowledge of procurement policies and procedures.

    What You'll Do Here:

    • Execute the coordination of procurement products and services.
    • Locate key suppliers and prepare project quotes.
    • Create purchase orders in SAP and confirm purchase quantities and pricing with vendor.
    • Perform services rendered by subcontractors in SAP.
    • Manage client trackers and track purchase requirements to bid.
    • Ensure that all packing slips have been verified for all pertinent information.
    • Adherence to Aecon preferred supplier sourcing footprint
    • Real time resolution of price, delivery, account assignment, material, and service-related exceptions
    • Clear open commitments and close purchase orders as required.
    • Maintain and organize all related filing systems.
    • Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.

    What You Bring to the Team:

    • Previous procurement experience within the construction industry is considered an asset.
    • Self-start with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, exercising sound judgment, attention to detail, and excellent multi-tasking skills.
    • Intermediate to Advanced level of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
    • Technical understanding of SAP and the procure to pay process.
    • Knowledge of "total cost" concepts
    • Effective organizational and time management skills
    • Strong customer service aptitude with the ability to forge relationships both internally within different departments and externally with suppliers.
