    Site: Red Deer Alberta

    Schedule: June Pre Turnaround 4 days on, 3 days off

    Mid August Turnaround 6 days on 1 day off

    LOA On approval

    Compensation: Competitive wages, Overtime, Vacation Pay, DSP's on approval

    Stuart Olson is searching for a Journeyperson Instrumentation Technicians to join us for Turnaround work; at a client location in the Red Deer area. There are staggered start dates lasting approximately 4 to 12 weeks; depending on when you are able to start.

    Responsibilities

  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair transmitters, switches, and control valves.
  • Calibrate and adjust set points on a variety of different instruments.
  • Coordinate with control room to stroke and function test valves and dampers.
  • Install and trouble tubing and air actuated instruments.
  • Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation or replacement.
  • Repair faulty equipment or systems.
  • Understand and practice company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain safe work practices.
  • Other duties as requested by the Supervisor.
  • Qualifications

  • Must be a certified Journeyperson Technician
  • Experience working on Turnarounds on an operating complex Petro-Chemical facility
  • CSTS 2020
  • Energy Safety Canada Tickets

    Fall Protection

    Confined Space
  • Compliance to client site Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing
  • Working Conditions

  • Working at heights
  • Working in a confined space
  • Working in and around noise and dust
  • Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
  • Must be clean shaven
  • Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots,
  • Physical Requirements

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance
  • Stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
  • Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects
