The Fire Alarm Service Supervisor is a leadership role responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day to day operations of the fire alarm service team, ensuring efficient service delivery, compliance with regulations, and high-quality customer interactions.

This position involves providing technical guidance and managing resources, but not the hiring, terminating, or high level management of employees.

The supervisor plays a pivotal role in upholding high standards of fire safety and operational efficiency.

What You'll Do

Participate as requested in productivity meetings with the service department. Alignment of the owners, managers, supervisors, admin staff and technicians is critical in achieving Sterling Fire's vision. Collaboration of various types and formats will be required. Supervisors will be expected to bring valuable discussion points to meetings, work to collaboratively identify and resolve issues and support the service manager in ensuring directives are carried out.

Provide technical support to the service manager. Supervisors will perform a crucial role in supporting the service manager. Technical aspects of the management/supervisory set will be provided by the supervisor. The service manager will rely on the supervisor (and other staff) to provide technical expertise while managing various scenarios.

Assist technicians with Inspection, repairs and maintenance. Helping the technicians with the technical aspect of their duties or workload to ensure jobs are completed as required to meet the schedule will be required.

Ensure technicians have sufficient time to complete reports and associated paperwork. Communicate with technicians, scheduling and management to ensure technicians have time to complete reports in a timely manner.

Provide support to ensure technicians are able to complete scheduled appointments and are providing appropriate comments. Ensure technicians are continually using the correct format and procedures to provide the required information for use by other members of the team. Ensure new hires have the support they need to implement their training.

Ensure technicians are utilizing scheduling software as directed by management. Ensure scheduling software is filled out completely and correctly for use by other members of the team.

Represent Sterling Fire with clients. Ensure Sterling Fire's interests are always being represented while communicating with clients and technicians. Additionally, assist management to ensure technicians are representing the company appropriately.

Communicate with technicians, dispatch and management. Effectively communicate with the office and technicians to ensure the productivity of technicians. Successfully assisting with scheduling issues, technical issues or additional workload such as service calls is the hallmark of an effective supervisor.

Attend service calls. Attend regular hours and after hours calls as directed and ensure systems are left in operation. Additionally, provide support for technicians performing service calls.

Troubleshoot systems. Perform technical investigations and troubleshoot as required. Repair systems and ensure systems are left in operation. Additionally, provide support for technicians providing troubleshooting services.

Participate in on call rotation. Be available and prepared for standby shifts. Calls must be answered immediately and attended to within 1 hour if in town, departure within 30 minutes if out of town. Ensure systems are left in operation. Provide support for technicians after hours if necessary.

Appearance. Ensure technicians are representing Sterling Fire appropriately with their appearance. Professional clothes/company uniform and a neat appearance are requirements of the job. Coordinate with management to ensure uniforms are available and conditions are met.
