Purpose/Summary:

Assist Engineers, Designers and EITs in entry level design activities, produce Mechanical CAD/Revit drawings, provide assistance in calculations and other activities related to project management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

General Management:

Generate suggestions for improving work.
Keep Group Lead apprised of activities.
Participate in training courses as requested.
Schedule workload appropriately, maximizing productive time.
Work enthusiastically with the Group to accomplish common objective.

Production:

Communicate regularly with team to ensure schedules are met.
Comply with company Design and CAD Standards.
Create AutoCAD/Revit drawings from markups or instructions from Group members.
Create working drawings using AutoCAD/Revit.
Highlight completed markups and return drawings.
Perform design calculations under the guidance of Group members.
Maintain drawings including architectural backgrounds uptodate.
Organize and print drawing sets as requested in a timely fashion.
Produce plot files, PDF, part plans, CN and SI, as required.
Review drawings for quality control.
Set up drawings in an organized fashion and appropriately labelled. Set up X-Refs.
Store, manage and archive drawing files and record sets of drawings in accordance with company Project Management Standards.
Update backgrounds.
Store and manage project documentation in accordance with company Project Management Standards.

SPECIFICATIONS

Enrolled in an Engineering program
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD
Experience with 3D modeling and REVIT is an asset
Experience with reading and coordinating Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Interior Designer and Architectural drawings
Experience with Microsoft Office (including Word and Excel), BlueBeam, and general computer skills
Good problemsolving and analytical skills
Good time management and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Ability to think independently
Detailoriented
