You will join a team of seasoned professionals who are looking to develop Mott MacDonald's presence in Canada and beyond.


We are looking for adaptable, self-motivated students who are excellent working both individually, as well as in a team to join us.

We need you to be able to build and maintain strong relationships with both your colleagues and external clients through excellent verbal and written communication.

A strong attention to detail is essential, as well as having a methodical approach to problem solving.

We will expect you to draw on your university and employment experiences to manage your time effectively and to meet deadlines.

This is a minimum 3-month co-op position based out of our Vancouver, BC office. This position will be for the winter co-op season starting in January.

As a co-op student, your responsibilities may include:

  • An introduction to conceptual, preliminary and detailed design An introduction to site inspection, investigations and monitoring
  • Support designers and engineers in research, design, calculation, and preparation of technical reports, specifications and studies
  • Preparing conceptual and detailed AutoCAD and Civil3D design drawings for rail & transit or civil engineering design
  • Technical writing and communications
  • Project support and administration

To be considered for an internship position, you will currently be working towards a master's degree or a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.

We are looking for graduates with the following characteristics:

  • Prior relevant internships, co-ops or practical work-experience preferred
  • Methodical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently
  • Having an ability to listen to others and ask clarifying questions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and prior experience using AutoCAD and Civil3D preferred
  • Desire to work in a fastpaced environment with a team of professionals who are deeply committed to exceeding client expectations
