Responsibilities:

What your days look like as a Project Director:

Project Direction of major environmental projects across Canada, including contaminated site remediation, sheet pile diking, marine dredging, hazardous materials management, centrifugal sludge dewatering, water treatment, mass excavation and remote projects;
Ensure flawless contract administration regarding the client objectives, the scope of the contract as well as the project budget and timeline;
Oversight and client understanding of the technical scope of the project;
Review contractual clauses and resolve issues, as needed;
Ensure detailed reporting of project change management process and communication of all change orders with the client;
Perform the technical review of all deliverables;
Ensure the Project Team understands the client's needs and expectations, the technical and administrative scope of the project, the budget and project timeline;
Supervision and work oversight of project management team;
Be familiar with and approve the selection of Canadian guidelines, standards, regulations and laws applicable to the project;
Ensure the technical and financial monitoring of the project according to the timeline and intervene diligently on behalf of the client if adjustments are required;
Ensure internal procedures are followed throughout the course of each project;
Ensure an appropriate health and safety plan is established and that it complies with requirements established by Sanexen;
Ensure knowledge transfer to team members;
Participate in the development and estimation of complex proposals.

Qualifications:

To succeed as a Project Director, you must have:

A minimum of 10 years' experience related to projects involving remediation of contaminated sites throughout Canada;
A minimum of 5 years' experience in the management and leadership of pluridisciplinary work teams;
University degree in engineering, geology, the environment or other related field;

Other required skills:

Excellence in contract management and technical understanding of projects/activities;
Excellent critical thinking and analytical abilities;
Fluency in both English and French (spoken and written);
Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite;
Excellent report quality, in both English and French;
Strong communication teamwork skills;
Good instructor and growing the next generation;
Show initiative and possess strong leadership skills.
