Nesters Market has an opening for a
Bakery Clerk at our location in
Vancouver, BC. This role is
Part-Time and reports to the Store Manager.

Clerks are responsible for providing fast and friendly service to customers in our busy grocery store.

Job duties and responsibilities:

Provide superior customer service to all guests
Efficiently stock and display product in a neat and appealing manner
Ensure a clean and sanitary environment
Assist guests with product recommendations and locations, requests, and special orders
Deal with customer concerns and/or complaints
Practice suggestive selling techniques with customers
Assist in receiving, unloading and stocking of merchandise
Merchandise, price, label and stock all bakery products
Ensure accuracy of store signage with regards to pricing
Willingness to cross train and work in the Deli department and possibly others: Meat, Produce, Cashier, Customer Service
To perform other duties and tasks assigned, as consistent with the nature and scope of the position

Skills and qualifications:

At least one year of retail or customer service experience
Prior bakery knowledge/experience is an asset
Minimum high school diploma
Food safety certification preferred
Above average interpersonal and communication skills
Superb customer service skills with a desire to provide a great shopping experience for customers
Strong analytical, problem solving and decisionmaking skills
Ability to work in a safe and responsible manner
Work well independently or in a collaborative team environment
Willingness and availability to work varied shifts including early morning, evenings, weekends, and holidays if necessary
Physical ability to stand, lift, and handle up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
Ability to work well in a fastpaced environment
Proven track record as a selfstarter; dedicated and goal orientated
Ability to follow established company policies
Excellent command of the English language both verbal and written
