The National Manager of Recreation and Rehab is responsible to develop and implement a national strategy for recreation and rehabilitation services within Revera Long Term Care.

The strategy will position Revera as a leader in the field and create person-centered programs that enhance resident safety and well-being.

S/he will be a role model for the field of recreation and rehabilitation, inspiring professionals to do their best.

  • Consistent, measurable Recreation & Rehabilitation programs and standards established across all LTC Homes;
  • National recognition for excellence in resident services and programs;

  • Well recognized Volunteer Program in Long Term Care sector.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Ensure Long Term Care policies and procedures identify Revera minimum standards, are current, reflect jurisdictional regulations and innovative practices, and position Revera as a leader in the area of recreation and rehab services;
  • Develop and implement rehabilitation programs that will be innovative and respond to the changing needs of LTC;
  • Develop and implement a standardized recreation program that will meet the Residents' needs, respond to the organization's quality outcomes, and are forwardthinking;
  • Collaborate with Regional and National Leads to ensure an interdisciplinary national perspective to this area;
  • Work with the Quality team to ensure quality monitoring processes for rehabilitation and recreation are in place and outcomes are met;
  • Monitor quality metrics and analyze performance indicators, balanced scorecard, satisfaction surveys related to the scope of this position;
  • Initiate and monitor research opportunities in collaboration with the Vice President Clinical;
  • Develop partnerships with organizations and institutions that align with Revera's Mission, Value and Pledge, and support the organization's quality/business plan objectives;
  • Uphold and promote the organization's values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality and integrity as set out in Revera's Code of Conduct; and
  • To complete all other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Credentials and Experience:


  • A regulated health professional with an undergraduate or Master's degree in a rehabilitation discipline preferred OR Degree in Gerontology including Therapeutic Recreation;
  • Minimum of five (5) years of recent and relevant program development and leadership experience in the long term care sector;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in: Gerontology, Continuous Quality Improvement, Research, Theory of Therapeutic Recreation and Rehabilitation(OT/PT/SLP), Adult Learning and Change Management;
  • Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
  • Vaccines are a proven, safe and powerful weapon in our battle against COVID19.
