is searching for a high-voltage lead electrical technician to help support hundreds of industrial plant substation maintenance programs across the GTA.

We're expanding and taking on new clients. We need the right people, not just any people.
Are you a whiz when it comes to Infrared Thermography/Scanning of plant electrical equipment? Do you know your way around a PM system of scheduled tasks for high and low voltage OH and UG power distribution systems? Are you ok with autonomy and not being micro-managed?

A day in the life of a full-time high-voltage lead electrical technician would be spent mostly in the field coordinating substation maintenance programs by meeting with customers and their crews.

You will need to be Mr or Miss Congeniality when presenting information, positive or negative. We expect a high degree of professionalism and respect for our customers. Our culture will not tolerate an individual who lacks respect for themself, their team and our clients.

You'll be conducting infrared thermography and scanning of plant electrical equipment so you'll need to know how to identify potential problems and distinguish between hot spots and spots that are just hot.

You'll spend a great deal of time doing inspections and looking for potential issues or safety concerns prior to them becoming a risk.

All overhead and underground power distribution systems are your playground so you need to know how to operate in this environment and have extensive experience working with this type of equipment.

You'll be testing, documenting and reporting so you'll need strong computer skills and a pretty wicked attention to detail.
You'l need to be detail-oriented with an extreme patience for testing systems and calibrating equipment. You will be operating a variety of testing, calibration and repair devices. So be prepared to pass some screening regarding best practices and common SOPs.

You'll use multiple types of tools and equipment; including voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, insulation resistance testers, high potential test sets, circuit breaker testers, etc.

You'll need to know the difference between each and how to use them properly.

Because this equipment will be in your possession, you'll need to know how to properly clean and maintain the equipment and perform planned or regular maintenance.

This means you will need to be the type of person who pays attention to detail and respects the property of others'.

You must be process oriented with experience in maintaining and editing technical material. You will be maintaining our current knowledge of equipment and materials through your own self-study and training. You must be self-disciplined and desire the upward mobility that comes with increased knowledge, ability and skill.

You will need to be proficient in reading and writing English because you'll be preparing and maintaining a variety of records and paperwork regarding all of the work you perform.

These details will comprise the record of the work we will eventually invoice to our clients. Your meticulous handling of our processes will be required.
We want a real people person that knows how to maintain professional relationships. We don't want anyone to feel like our team gives off the cold shoulder or Adam's Family vibes. You will be developing and maintaining strong work relationships with PTS personnel. You'll be communicating through written and oral methods so you'll need to be fluent in English.

We want someone who doesn't always see what is there, but can also see what is missing; analytical and not myopic but able to see the forrest even with all the trees in the way.

You need to know how to solve-problems and bring solutions through proper troubleshooting. If your favorite words are I can't and I don't and I won't, this isn't the job for you.
You'll need a class G driver's license so we can put you in a company vehicle. We want some post-secondary education at the Technical College level at minimum. You'll need a trade's certificate such as a 309. If you don't have that and a minimum Level 1 Infrared Thermography Certificate, you shouldn't apply.
