Description

Creative Door Services, North America's largest overhead door dealer, operates nine branches across Western Canada and we have over 50 years of experience in the residential and commercial overhead door industry.

We provide access solutions by servicing and installing a variety of overhead doors and driveway gate systems, operators and associated controls.

Role:

We have an immediate opening for a
Pedestrian Door Technician located in the
Calgary branch. Reporting to the Field Operations Supervisor, the Technician will service and install pedestrian doors for commercial clients. This role is a permanent, full time position.

Responsibilities:

Diagnose problems, provide solutions, and carry out required work on pedestrian doors
Regularly coordinate with the service scheduler on problem solving and required parts
Provide estimates for how many personhours are required for a service call, and the cost to fix versus replace doors
Contributing to business development of the branch by actively seeking new customers and building relationships with current customers
Interface with customers while acting as an ambassador of Creative Door Services
Always maintain a safe and clean work site
Other duties, as assigned

Skills:

Solid working knowledge of the various pedestrian door types i.e. hollow metal, wood, glass aluminum
Solid working knowledge of press steel frames, knockdown frames, wood and aluminum frames
Business savvy with a customer service focus
Strong work ethic, team player and positive attitude
Good communication and problemsolving skills
Strong safety mindset
Previous experience with door automation required including swing, sliding and revolving doors

Qualifications:

AAADM Certification preferred
Able to install and adjust hinges (mechanical/electrified) to properly fit the door in the opening
Able to install various types of door hardware i.e. closers, locksets (mechanical/electrified), deadbolts, thresholds, weather stripping, exit devices, magnetic lock, door sweeps
Capable of installing automatic barrier free operators, sliding and revolving doors
Service/install automated entrance systems including swing operators, sliding doors etc
Possess valid Driver's License and clean abstract
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
Must work outside in all different weather conditions, including cold and extreme heat. Lifting, pulling, climbing, standing, sitting, lying down, squatting and kneeling and managing equipment and tools required
Must be able to successfully pass preemployment screening requirements including drug, alcohol and health assessment
