***: Residential Care Workers assist people who live in a variety of residential settings to enhance their quality of life by providing opportunities for independence, learning and self expression. These opportunities will reflect and respect personal preferences and choices of the people served. The responsibilities of this position include ensuring that people's physical, emotional, social, and medical needs are met. Residential Care Workers provide support/advocacy for all people to participate as full members of the community, including supporting them on transit to access their community. This role will support people living in a semi-independent housing model, including supporting them on transit to access their community. SHIFTS:

Saturday 4:00 pm -9:00 pm

Sunday 4:00 pm -9:00 pm

- _May be required to work statutory holidays_


WAGE:
$21.63/hr - $25.19/hr


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Diploma in Human Services or Community Support Worker or equivalent
  • Two years of experience supporting people with developmental disabilities and behaviour challenges
  • Knowledge of Positive behavioral Support techniques, knowledge and experience in skill based training
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals and families
  • Experience with assisting people with a variety of personal care needs an asset
  • Class 4 Driver's License
  • Required to use personal vehicle and required to drive house van
  • Current Community Care First Aid/CPR, NVCI, Food Safe certificates
  • Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check clearance and maintenance thereafter
  • This position requires BCGEU union membership
