Medical Writer
Summary
The Medical Writer will be responsible for assisting with coordinating, organizing, and compiling publications of various types.
These include, but are not limited to:
Whitepapers, Data publications, Methodologies, and Literature Reviews.
Medical writers will be expected to have a solid background and comfort in reading medical literature, including interpreting data and communicating with both academic and non-academic audiences.
The medical writer may assist with additional projects associated with our clinical team, including collaborating with medical professionals, patients, and/or the public.
This role will require leadership on various projects/initiatives, including setting goals, delegating tasks, and ensuring timelines are met.
We are looking for someone self-driven and able to adapt in a rapidly growing organization, who loves to learn and can quickly tackle new challenges as they arise.
Who We Are
FluidAI aims to create a paradigm shift in post-operative care, utilizing the plethora of data within the body, to help in the detection of post-operative complications at their onset.
FluidAI's platform sensing technology augments existing wound drains and catheters, providing healthcare providers with a smart monitoring tool that can enhance the delivery of care.
FluidAI's technology is being built with the goal of decreasing surgeons' response time to potential complications, making patient recovery easier, and hopefully saving lives.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify and remain up to date on relevant medical literature, as it applies to FluidAI's projects and aims
- Support in compiling and writing publications for audiences of varied backgrounds (medical professional/academic, patient, public)
- Compile resources (e.g. publications, data, etc.) for other members of the clinical team for use in ongoing projects
- Maintain comprehensive, uptodate catalogues of literature on shared FluidAI platforms
- Assist team members in developing educational content for audiences including surgeons, other medical specialties, other healthcare providers, and patients/caregivers
- Support in the refinement and submission of publications to journals, on FluidAI web pages, and in preparation for dissemination to important stakeholders
- Act as a leader on independent projects, in collaboration with other members of the clinical and broader FluidAI team
Skills/Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (BSc, BASc, BA) in Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Health Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Public Health, or related discipline
- Past experience with medical writing, including a working understanding of the publication process (compilation, submission, revision) in the medical sciences
- Ability to interpret and synthesize information and data from medical literature, including statistics, figures, and graphs
- Organization and timemanagement skills
- Excellent professional writing skills
- Passion for documentation and detail
- High level of integrity and ethical conduct
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent team player
- Ability to prioritize workload to ensure all deadlines are met
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Comprehensive knowledge of common software programs/tools
