This position description is designed to highlight the main activities, responsibilities and performance expectations for this role and describe the typical scope of control and influence associated with this position.


Working with the Project Manager and Project Coordinator, leads our project site teams throughout the project life cycle, from start-up to close-out.

In this role, you will be involved in a broad range of responsibilities.


Main Functional Responsibilities:


  • Coordinates all site construction activities and supervises all field personnel as required to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget, while administering good construction practices with onsite activities.
  • Supervises and directs construction projects in strict accordance with the contract documents and industry best practices.
  • Oversees all phases of a construction project, ensuring all work is being completed according to approved specifications, within the Contract scope of work, terms and budget.
  • Supervises and coordinates tasks and activities of subcontractors/vendors to ensure quality of work as it pertains to construction drawings and adherence to schedule.
  • Provides overall onsite management of all onsite activities on a daily basis, including coordination of construction crews, equipment, material and subcontractors, etc.
  • Prepares and maintains project schedule with subcontractors/suppliers.
  • Tracks progress, identifying project risks and works to mitigate those risks.
  • Ensures the workmanship and completion of all trades/subcontractors meet Company standards.
  • Manages job site cleanliness and controls waste stream and recycling efforts.
  • Identifies and discusses any additional work "extras" and potential claims with the Project Manager and obtains signed work directives.
  • Maintains a daily inspection log documenting construction activities and recording of progress and asconstructed details for the purposes of project closeout.
  • Participates in site meetings and safety meetings, conducting toolbox/safety meetings and site inspections.
  • Promotes and maintains a safe work site, ensuring proper use of PPE.
  • Ensures all quality and safety standards are met on each project.
  • Documents and reports all injuries.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:


  • Educational requirements include a Construction Engineering Technology diploma or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' practical experience in construction.
  • Ability to understand and interpret construction drawings, blueprints and specifications.
  • Solid understanding of applicable building codes, OSHA, and WSIB Regulations.
  • Ability to assume responsibility and to interface and communicate effectively with others, have strong interpersonal skills and be selfmotivated.
  • Deadline oriented with ability to prioritize and plan tasks.
  • Works well independently and as part of a team.
  • Enthusiasm for challenge and new initiatives are prerequisites.

Salary:
$69,243.29-$156,746.00 per year
