About the Position:
The primary responsibility of this role is to support the client services department with sample pick-up deliveries and bottle order preparation for customers requiring sampling supplies and sample testing services in Ottawa and Soundings area.
- Conduct client deliveries and pickups as needed; both local and in Ottawa and Soundings area.
- Maintain cleanliness of company vehicle, perform and record daily operational checks;
- Ensure sample records and supplies are complete and accurate;
- Other general shipping, receiving and supplies warehousing functions as needed;
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager which include:
- Preparation and organization of bottle orders to client supplied specifications, including preservation, sample cooler control, storage maintenance;
- Maintenance and organization of the sample prep room, warehouse and bottle stocks including sample bottle preservation;
- Assist with the proper packing and daily shipping of samples to clients and ALS network labs.
- Work safely, drive safely and follow safety requirements in the Safety Manual and communicate all safety concerns or incidents to Safety Rep;
- Provide customer feedback to client services personnel
- Transport samples and supplies in accordance with the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act.
- Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality;
- Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures;
- Other duties as assigned.
- Attention to detail and great customer service skills required;
- Ability to work within a fastpaced, high volume environment;
- Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal.
- Grade 12 diploma;
- Current and valid Ontario driver's license (class G) with clean driving history and a minimum of 3 years driving experience. Abstract required;
- No conditions that would prohibit the driving of long distances;
- Previous Warehouse experience will be an asset;
- Previous shipping receiving experience will be an asset.
- Manual dexterity to perform intricate and/or repetitive tasks;
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for short distances;
- Extensive walking or movement, bending, kneeling, and carrying;
- Able to stand or sit for a full shift;
- Able to climb stairs.
- You may be exposed to unpleasant odours;
- Please note that ALS operates 24/7 and will require day, afternoon, and graveyard shift work including weekends.
