Description
Working closely with senior leadership and staff will champion, develp and influence a positive safety culture- Administer and delvier the Health and Safety Program, including developing policies and procedures to meet legislative and company requirments
- Responsible for safety orientation and management of documentation.
- Maintain all updates pursuant to the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and Regulations and makes recommendations on how to implement
- Conduct training programs for employees with regard to WHIMIS, Fall Protection,Orientation, Forklift training, PPE, CPR/First Aid,and any other industry specfic requirements
- Plan and facilitate monthly Health and Safety meetings
- Develop daily tool box topics, to bring awareness of safety issues and policies
- Liason with management on incident investigations and the management of WCB claims, ensuring timely completion of accident/injury reporting and ensuring modified duties are implemented
- Complete inspections as per the safety program, review and discuss finding with management to help in expediting corrective actions
- Establish safety metrics
- Maintain PPE program, maintain safety boards with key contacts and required safety documents.
- Maintain the Emergency Respons Plan as needed and lead staff on any required training to facilitate this
- Arrange new hire pre access bookings/post incident booking/orientations
- Manage all online safety management systems including AVETTA, ISNET, COMPLY Works, WCB and DOT
- Monitoring of ELD compliance and Hours of Service Compliance
- Responsible for maintaing and updating insurance renewals, registrations, Maintenance Logs
- Must be a self starter, reliable, strong attention to detail, a TEAM PLAYER, able to work in a fast paced, ever changing enviroment, able to handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality.
- Must have a positive attitude with a can do approach and be a self starter
- Strong verbal and written English skills, ability to multitask
- Willingness to travel if needed
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or relevant field
- Minimum two years active experience with a proven track record
