Maple Leaf Construction Ltd. is currently searching for a


Service Writer


Under the supervision of the Shop Office Manager, the Service Writer is responsible for assisting shop supervisors, Foremen, and technicians in maintaining accurate and on-time reports and records relative to the Service Department's operation.


As a Service Writer your duties will include:

  • Fielding internal and external (vendor) inquiries to the Service Department
  • Generating and opening work orders as directed by the Supervisor/Shop Foreman and maintaining control until they are closed and invoiced
  • Maintaining the service library with current information (i.e. filing bulletins, manuals, multimedia, etc.)
  • Updating customer profiles using equipment, hours, or other information from the work orders
  • Maintaining accessories and supplies and prepares replacement orders
  • May process warranty and/or product improvement claims including the computation of charges, submission and followup
  • Maintenance of Service Department filing and records
  • Tracking and reporting of repair orders, parts requests, unsold repairs, and other information
  • Other tasks as required.

Your experience includes:


  • High school diploma or equivalent experience with 12+ years of service writing
  • Excellent computer skills including previous experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office 365 products
  • Heavy construction or trades experience is an asset

Requirements:


  • Effective at time management with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision, as well as a strong team member
  • Knowledge of general office procedures
  • General understanding of mechanical/technical terms is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of accounting practices

Salary:
$18.00-$28.00 per hour
