The Support Counsellor for EHN Outpatient Services is responsible for supporting clients and staff in the day to day running of programming across the Network.

Working with all outpatient staff, Support Counsellors will monitor both Wagon app usage and SoberLink results for all outpatient clients.

The Support Counsellor will be responsible for reaching out to clients and referents based on the results, providing support and crisis intervention.

In addition to outreach, Support Staff assist clients having technical issues, program change requests and provide support for clients who attend program in crisis.


JOB FUNCTION AND DUTIES:


  • Monitor client progress with the Wagon app and check in with clients who are inactive or indicate that they are currently using.
  • Update goals, values and abstinence goals in the Wagon app for clients.
  • Provide empathetic and professional crisis support to clients.
  • Chart all clinical interactions with client in KIPU.
  • Support clients who are unable to access their online group or the Wagon app with technical support.
  • Track any technical and provide them to Wagon Product Manager.
  • Cover Wagon onboarding shifts as needed.
  • Sets up new SoberLink clients with devices, KIPU files, etc.
  • Monitors SoberLink clients, informing referents and clinicians of positive results
  • Cofacilitates sessions, as needed
  • Assists clients with attending virtual events such as workshops or Cake Night.
  • Assists the clinical and client care team in ensuring outcomes measures are completed
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Staff will work a variety of shifts including weekdays, evenings, weekends, holidays and oncall.

EDUCATION

  • Postsecondary education or relevant experience
  • Crisis Intervention Training

SKILLS

  • Experience in addictions and mental health field
  • Excellent customer services skills
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records systems
  • Experience with mental health Crisis Support
  • Strong organizational and timemanagement skills
  • Proficient in MS Office products (Excel, Word, MS Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Detailoriented
