Emergency Communications Centre


The Communication Center monitors a variety of systems, including Access Control System, Fire Alarm Systems, Facilities Systems, CCTV System, Radio systems and so on.


_ The primary function of the Communication Center is to respond to any emergencies and dispatch the necessary resources such as medical team, Fire Team, emergency services, security, facilities, etc..._

Responsibilities:


  • Monitor security access system and respond to priority alarms.
  • Monitor environmental system and provide notification to Facilities staff via radio of all alarms.
  • Monitor fire system and provide notification to Emergency Services staff via radio.
  • Document all emergency response activities via Emergency Check sheets and incident report
  • Assist in the maintenance of all site emergency and nonemergency phone numbers, emergency contact lists and emergency access lists.
  • Carry out various administrative duties to ensure efficiency and effectiveness throughout the department for auditing purposes.
  • Maintain databases as required
  • Perform a system/equipment check to ensure that all equipment is operating correctly.
  • Review the Emergency Procedures
  • Brief incoming shift security guards on any outstanding or ongoing items prior to handover.
  • During plant/department evacuation, complete head count/sweep confirmation
  • May be required to fill in for Shift Supervisor in an Emergency or last minute absents.

Experience and Qualifications:


  • Valid Security Guard License
  • Valid First Aid / CPR certificate
  • Must be able to stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time

Strong Communication skills, written and verbal:

  • Ability to complete daily logs and write detailed reports
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Must have your own transportation to and from work location
