Position Summary:


Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Building Attendant works to protect and maintain the building ensuring the safety and comfort of our residents.

This position will be responsible for troubleshooting maintenance issues, resident units and the building in general performing repairs and maintaining everything in good working order.


This may include but is not limited to:
plumbing work, painting, small electrical repairs, heating, and air conditioning system maintenance.

This position also ensures the building is secured at the end of the day and is responsible for garbage and recycling removal.

Seasonal external maintenance of the building is also required.


Hours of Work:

Thursday and Friday 2:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.


Responsibilities:


  • Performs suite and building maintenance and repair functions such as dry wall repairs, painting, and repairing and replacing sinks, taps, toilet parts, and light fixtures.
  • Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.
  • Complete basic repairs and maintenance.
  • Equipment maintenance (door hardware, HVAC filters replacement and cleaning, lighting repairs/ replacement, etc.)
  • Monitor building for deficiencies and report to Maintenance Manager
  • Completion of building checks to ensure building is secure at end of day.
  • Must have some experience with hand operated and power tools.
  • Garbage removal daily at various intervals

Maintenance Worker Requirements:


  • Proven maintenance experience.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to use common tools such as hammers, drills, and wrenches.
  • Experience performing routine maintenance.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain focus while working individually.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Must be able to lift to 44lbs.
  • Must be able to use ladders.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
