    Description

    Your Opportunity:

    North Zone Addiction and Mental Health has an exciting leadership opportunity available in Grande Prairie. If you are passionate about supporting individuals struggling with addiction and supporting a recovery-oriented approach to care, we are recruiting to the manager position responsible for bed-base addiction services run out of the Northern Addictions Centre (NAC). This includes the administration and operation of the programs, services, and employees at these sites, including the detoxification unit and the bed-based addiction treatment program at NAC. The position will oversee the implementation of My Recovery Plan and the continued redesign of bed-based services at this site. The position is also the site manage for NAC and will be responsible for responding to any building wide operations and issues and will require coordination and collaboration with other services operated out of the building. As a key member of the North Zone Addiction and Mental Health Management team, you will advocate for regional interests at various forums and contribute to the formulation of zone-level strategic objectives. The position is also the manager lead for North Zone's bed-based addiction services and will collaborate with partners across the zone to promote standardized and quality services in this care area. In addition to offering a competitive salary, Alberta Health Services (AHS) provides a Remote Retention Allowance of up to $3,000 annually, payable hourly for all basic-rate hours worked.

    Description:

    Reporting to the Director, Addiction and Mental Health, North Zone, the Manager is accountable for operational leadership, as well as the delivery of high quality, accessible, sustainable, client and family-centred care in Grande Prairie. This includes fostering a culture of collaborative care and continuous improvement, ensuring the effective deployment of resources, and contributing to the development and implementation of operational plans and service improvement initiatives. The incumbent will develop and maintain the internal capacity and skill of staff to meet regional service needs. They will provide management and leadership to interdisciplinary teams and maintain and build solid working structures with regional partnerships. It is the responsibility of the incumbent to recruit, hire, and assist with training of new staff to meet the needs of the programs. This also includes evaluation and performance reviews and learning and development plans for staff. The manager promotes health and safety in the workplace and encourages all staff to participate in a safe and respectful work environment. The position is part of the North Zone Addiction and Mental Health management team and will work collaboratively with other managers across the Zone to build an integrated, seamless system of addiction and mental health services to support clients. The manager will also work with community partners to assist all clients in receiving the best possible care and ensure strong linkages to community services and organizations. The incumbent will work to manage an allocated budget, approve expenditures, and maintain open communication with financial and human resources advisors.

    Required Qualifications:

    To be eligible for the position, you must have a Baccalaureate or Master's degree in a relevant and regulated health-related profession. Additionally, you must be registered with the appropriate professional college. You should have a minimum of five years of recent and relevant clinical, supervisory, and/or leadership experience in the areas of addiction and mental health. You should have a proven track record in leading complex community engagement activities. You must have experience in working in a management role and/or in the supervision of personnel with demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills and expertise.

    Additional Required Qualifications:

    Demonstrated success in delivering high quality of client and family centred care and service. Demonstrated success in providing services in community and rural/remote settings. Experience in program development and evaluation. Ability to be a work collaboratively with a variety of internal and external partners. Ability to lead front line staff in the analysis and resolution of challenging client care issues. Experience addressing staffing issues as they pertain to clinical functioning and ability to promote staff growth as effective clinicians. Effective interpersonal relationship building skills, including conflict resolution, with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders. Change management knowledge and ability to effectively implement and facilitate change. Demonstrated ability to manage the budget for program area. Financial management experience including knowledge of budget forecasting, financial reporting, and resource expenditure management.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience bed-based addiction treatment services in a clinical or leadership role. Change management and project management training are an asset. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
