We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic General Accountant to oversee the general accounting transactions. Reporting directly to the Controller, this leadership role will be responsible for ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting functions.

This is an on-site position, requiring daily attendance at our Brampton headquarters from Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee general accounting transactions, including bank reconciliations, intercompany transactions, tax, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Ensure the timely and accurate completion of month-end close procedures, aligning with corporate financial policies and reporting standards.
• Prepare and post journal entries, conduct balance sheet and bank reconciliations, and oversee intercompany transactions.
• Develop, implement, and maintain internal financial controls and standardized accounting policies across all manufacturing plants.
• Manage corporate tax compliance, including HST remittances and other government filings.
• Identify, recommend, and implement process enhancements and automation opportunities to improve efficiency.
• Provide training and support to accounting personnel across multiple locations, fostering financial literacy and ERP proficiency.
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis and participate in special projects as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a General Accountant.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing industry, with strong expertise in bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, HST, and other general accounting functions.
• Proficiency in Acumatica ERP SaaS software (Acumatica), with a deep understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchase orders, inventory, sales orders, banking, general ledger, and fixed assets modules.
• CPA designation in good standing (Preferable).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to optimizing financial processes.
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
