About the Opportunity:
Reporting to the Health Services Director, Veterans Services and Geriatrics, the Health Services Manager is responsible for the planning and coordination of services and daily operations of people-centered Long Term Care service at Camp Hill Veterans Services within Nova Scotia Health.
Working collaboratively and consultatively with veterans/residents, patients, families, management, staff, physicians, community partners, and service providers, the Health Services Manager applies strategic and analytical thinking to achieve the ultimate goal of providing high quality, safe and cost effective health care services to veterans, resident and patients.
Responsibilities Include:
- Providing leadership and direction for Camp Hill Veterans Services team members to ensure the goals and objectives of the long term care service are continually met
- Providing leadership and direction for the Camp Hill Veterans Services staffing and scheduling team
- Promoting and emphasizing residentcentred care in partnership with the resident/veteran, family, and health care team
- Developing, implementing and maintaining an active human resource plan including recruitment, selection, interviewing and hiring
- Preparing and analyzing all relevant financial and clinical data, reports trends and identifies where corrective action is required for budget variances, implements changes as required and evaluates the effectiveness of the changes
- Establishing and maintaining creative and efficient communication processes across clinical teams, geographically different sites, other disciplines, and other stakeholders within NSH as required
- Managing process improvements for quality patient/resident care and enhancing capacity
- Representing professional discipline or service/program by active and effective participation in meetings and on committees
About You:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Baccalaureate degree from a health discipline required, Master's degree an asset
- Must be registered with the applicable licensing body
- 5 to 7 years of relevant clinical experience required
- Previous leadership/management experience an asset
- Experience and expertise in process planning and redesign work
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of issues and trends impacting the publicly funded health care system, particularly those affecting the care of older adults and veterans in NS, nationally and internationally.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the evidence based practices that promote excellence in resident and family centered long term care service delivery
- Requires a high level of sound judgment, initiative, and selfdirection
- Demonstrates high degrees of independent decision making, motivation, creativity, flexibility, adaptability, and change management knowledge
- Proven and highly developed leadership skills including vision, selfawareness, relationship and team building skills, and communication skills
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours:
- Permanent Fulltime Position; 75 hours biweekly
Compensation and Incentives:
$ $58.34 Hourly
