Position Overview
The
IT Support Technician will be responsible for providing onsite and remote technical support including troubleshooting technical issues, documenting all incidents in the ticketing system and supporting the larger team with customer and project support.
Responsibilities
Daily monitoring of installed systems to ensure systems are functioning in accordance with all service level agreements
Monitor network performance and resolve issues such as internet bandwidth problems, ISP issues and firewall / router changes.
Document, track, and monitor the incident in the ticketing system to ensure a timely resolution.
Handle multiple priorities and work under pressure.
Perform preventative maintenance when needed including checking and cleaning workstations, printers and peripherals.
Provide a willingness to commit the additional time and effort necessary to meet project and client commitments including after-hours or weekend work as needed.
Required Skills and Experience
Post-Secondary IT Training with a minimum of 2 years experience working in a Managed IT Services Company
Systems Administration (complete Server knowledge) in macOS and Microsoft Windows mixed environments.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including 2007, 2010, 2013 and 2016
Experience with troubleshooting printers, scanner and various other peripherals
Experience with Remote Control Software such as Teamviewer, ConnectWise Control and Remote Desktop Connection
Experience with troubleshooting and supporting mobile devices iPhone, iPad, Android and Blackberry
Experience with Microsoft Windows server technologies (Server 2008 R2/2012/2016/2019) operating systems, Exchange, DNS and Active Directory, and virtualization platforms.
Basic understanding of Cisco switches, routers and TCP / IP networking
Basic understanding of VoIP including FreesWITCH,FreePBX, Asterisk, Cisco UC, etc
Basic understanding of virtualization platforms including VMware and Hyper-V
Basic understanding of installing, configuring, administering and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Server 2003 / 2008 / 2012 / 2012 R2 /2016 /2019
Ability to work independently
Your own vehicle and a valid G license
Occasional off-hours work to meet IT system demands
Network + Certification or equivalent experience and knowledge.
