As the Packaging Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the execution of our ambitious global and local packaging projects across North America.
Your responsibilities will span cross-functional coordination with Engineering and Production teams, tackling complex packaging challenges, leading development efforts, conducting technical evaluations, and assessing economic feasibility studies to inform decisions that align with our industrial requirements.
Furthermore, you'll take charge of managing the Deploy Packaging team within the plant, overseeing a significant portfolio spend. You'll spearhead the development of pertinent projects and orchestrate contributions from plants, copackers, and DTCs throughout the project lifecycle.This impactful role promises high visibility among both local and global stakeholders and will be instrumental in achieving key business objectives for Ferrero North America.
Reporting directly to the SVP Packaging North America, this role offers a hybrid work environment for added flexibility.Main Responsibilities:
PROJECT & INNOVATION- Oversees packaging development globally, ensuring alignment with timing, cost, and quality targets.
- Identifies opportunities to optimize industrial setup and drive decisions for project alignment with local requirements.
- Contributes to project objectives considering local industrial realities and supplier technologies.
- Addresses issues and implements corrective actions as needed.
- Supports packaging qualification team in validating new suppliers.
- COSTS / EFFICIENCY & DERISKING
- Analyzes and optimizes projects for regional efficiency gains and complexity reduction.
- Manages Fuel 4 Growth projects across all plants for centralized costsaving initiatives.
- Assists in scouting and validating alternative suppliers for risk management.
- ANALYSIS, VALIDATION & SUPPORT ACTIVITIES
- Manages local budget activities
- Ensures implementation of standard documentation and guidelines.
- Coordinates packaging line trials as needed.
- GOVERNANCE
- Represents Packaging Deploy unit in local and external meetings to promote new solutions in projects.
- Ensures process consistency and troubleshoots problems for plants outside of direct responsibility.
- HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT
- Leads packaging deploy team, overseeing progress, priorities, quality, and resource development.
- Ensures training on machinery safety and substance use.
Who we are looking for:
- Material science or engineering degree. Consolidated structural packaging design knowledge. Understanding of packaging line design.
- 10+ years of experience in Packaging Design, Packaging Line Design
- Project management, Problemsolving, decisionmaking, and criticalthinking skills are considered as mandatory for the role.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility, adaptability and aptitude to teamwork
- People management experience
- An operational knowledge of the English language (written and spoken)
- AutoCad 2D (mechanical technical drawing); ArtiosCad is a plus
- Illustrator/Photo shop
- MS Office (Excel, Power Point, Word)
