Description
The Universal Care Provider (UCP) provides high quality care and other services to residents. This includes providing personal care, laundry, dining service, housekeeping, and medication administration.


Key Responsibilities

  • Administer medication to residents.
  • Provide support services and interact with residents and resident family members in a timely and professional manner, per established work routines.
  • Complete all assigned documentation.
  • Participate as a member of the care team and provide support to the other members of the Care team.
  • Assist and attend to care needs of the residents as required.
  • Work safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, coworkers, and residents.
  • Escort residents to social activity programs, appointments, dining room, etc.
  • Promptly respond to emergency call systems.
  • Participate in regular inservice training, continuing education programs and annual Unregulated Care Provider refresher training provided by the pharmacy and employer.
  • Respect resident privacy
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

_Education:
_


  • Secondary school education or equivalent.
  • Unregulated Care Provider Medication Administration certificate through the residence's accredited pharmacy.

_Experience:
_


  • Previous work experience in providing personal care services.

_Skills & Abilities:
_


  • Communication interact and communicate with internal and external customers. Ability to read and write effectively.
  • Empathy demonstrate understanding of the needs of residents.
  • Teamwork work collaboratively as a team.
  • Organized perform assigned responsibilities in a timely manner.
  • Learning
- tasks such as resident care activities and medication administration.


Work Conditions and Effort

  • Work requires standing for long periods of time, lifting, and carrying heavy items.
  • Wears personal protective equipment as required.
