About the role
As the **Director of Claims

  • Casualty Ontario (Auto)**, you will be a key member of the Ontario Claims management team and will be managing the Auto Bodily Injury operations of the Casualty department.

This opportunity can be based in any of the following Ontario offices: Ajax/London/ Mississauga/Ottawa/Richmond Hill/Toronto (700 University).

What you'll do here:


  • Build relationships with Senior Executives and, as an active member of critical strategic projects, influence their decisionmaking.
  • Grow Intact's talent and leadership pipeline through your thoughtful and effective approach to employee career development, performance management, and mentorship.
  • Directly contribute to Intact's operational excellence via projects that will transform how we do business.
  • Contribute to the establishment of objectives included in the business plan and implement approaches to achieve regional Claims goals in line with business strategies and the organization's financial, material and human resources.
  • Ensure a high level of employee engagement by continually monitoring overall engagement and creating and executing engagement action plans.
  • Ensure efficient and effective work processes and quality service. Develop strategies for controlling indemnity and costs.
  • Assess and address workforce planning needs to maintain service levels and productivity benchmarks.
  • Be a liaison for key corporate stakeholders in various departments including National Claims, Legal Claims and Actuarial.

What you bring to the table:

  • University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role
  • 10 to 15 years' experience, preferably in a senior Claims Management position, within the Insurance industry.
  • Completion of CIP or FCIP preferred.
  • Positive attitude while adapting to changing priorities and taking ownership of work.
  • Selfstarter with the ability to work independently under mínimal supervision.
  • Proven experience with successful change management initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Casualty Insurance Claims an asset.
