Job Purpose:

Facilitate new product development from stage 2 through to mass production; providing support to product engineers, ensuring stage gates are signed off, regular meetings are held and required forms completed.

Lead implementation phase of cross functional stage gate meetings. Work in close collaboration with product engineers / designers to ensure an "on-time" and effective production launch. Regularly follows up with cross functional launch team members to ensure task completion. The project administrator is the R&D department lead for progressing and open issues.
Facilitate the completion of important project based on CNs from initiation to implementation. Lead cross functional meetings.

Ensure adherence to the CN process, completion of CN forms and follow up on CN tasks to ensure timely task completion in collaboration with department administrative assistant.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for holding cross functional stage gate meetings, following up with team members to ensure task and form completion at each stage. Maintains open issues list for projects in collaboration with product engineers/designers to ensure tasks are completed and to ensure launch timing is communicated and feasible for all departments and functions. Where applicable coordinates directly with all affected production sites. Communicates potential problems and overdue tasks to R&D management in a timely manner.
  • Actively participates in the engineering production runs and design reviews for new products in order to understand the product design, status and potential challenges.
  • Partners with the R&D product engineers / designers to plan and complete the process run including "handson" participation in the physical build. The product designer is responsible for the technical readiness, (design, drawings, specifications, BOM, etc.), whilst the project administrator ensures that responsible supporting departments are aware of their tasks to ensure system readiness, (resource availability, parts availability, engineering masters structured and validated, etc.) Chairs the stage gate meetings from stage 2, up until the post launch review.
  • Tracks overall CN status in collaboration with department administrative assistant. Actively coordinates change notices CN's, working with appropriate resources within R&D to determine technical feasibility and with the cross functional team to determine the feasibility of the change. Plans, schedules and monitors the necessary actions required to implement the change, including but not limited to minimization of scrap, build out plans, effective date, communication of change etc. Works in collaboration with the R&D management to, prioritize, record and analyze the effectiveness of the change process and provide recommendations to management for improvements.
  • Tracks and reviews CI's issued to R&D department working with appropriate resources within R&D to determine technical and financial feasibility. Coordinates the implementation of approved CI's, cost reductions and product improvements using the CN process.
  • Acts as a backup resource for engineering system activities such as PDM drawing release, visual development and maintenance of engineering masters, part status, UPC, outside service, etc. Where necessary providing training to new Associates.
  • Acts as a backup resource for technical documentation including leaflets, manuals, labels, and engineering master creation. Where necessary providing training to new Associates.
  • Coordinates, prepares and test automation programs for production lines in collaboration with IT, manufacturing engineering and production. Where necessary creating test environments, visual databases etc. including trouble shooting and maintenance of system integration items to ensure effective daily operations.

Education & Experience:


  • Minimum of three (3) years of applicable work experience in an engineering or production environment with a minimum of one (1) year of demonstrated project coordination / management experience required.
