Duties and Responsibilities:


Qualifications:


The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

  • Exceptional knowledge of the care and use of rare books;
  • Exceptional knowledge of Ottawa specific resources and instruction;
  • Exceptional knowledge of archival principles and standards;
  • Experience in working in a high pressure serviceoriented organization;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and problemsolving abilities;
  • Experience in giving presentations; thorough knowledge and experience in research;
  • Ability to work with materials in foreign languages and in varying media;
  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Maturity of judgment, initiative and selforganization are required to balance work priorities.
  • French language skills would be an asset.

Education and Experience:


The above is normally acquired through the completion of:

  • Undergraduate university degree, and an Archives Technician diploma or Library Information Technology diploma
  • Five years of relevant archives or library experience
