Duties and Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
- Exceptional knowledge of the care and use of rare books;
- Exceptional knowledge of Ottawa specific resources and instruction;
- Exceptional knowledge of archival principles and standards;
- Experience in working in a high pressure serviceoriented organization;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and problemsolving abilities;
- Experience in giving presentations; thorough knowledge and experience in research;
- Ability to work with materials in foreign languages and in varying media;
- Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Maturity of judgment, initiative and selforganization are required to balance work priorities.
- French language skills would be an asset.
Education and Experience:
The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
- Undergraduate university degree, and an Archives Technician diploma or Library Information Technology diploma
- Five years of relevant archives or library experience
