DDSB Summer Learning Program - Summer Student 2024

Summer Literacy and Numeracy Camps - (In-person)

Grades 1-8


French Immersion:
Grades 1-3 (Focus on Oral Communication)


Program Dates:

Mandatory Training Days on Tuesday, July 2nd and Wednesday, July 3rd from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (Training days will be in-person)


Summer Learning Dates:
July 8th - August 1st, 2024 (Monday to Thursday)


Hours for students: 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.


Hours of work: 8:45 a.m. - 2:15 p.m.


Rate of Pay:
$21.58 per hour (88 hours in total)

2 Training days (10 hours)

16 days x 5.5 (8:45 am - 2:15 pm)

Unpaid 30 minute Lunch each day


This summer, the Durham District School Board is offering Mathematics and Literacy Camps for students who are currently enrolled in Grades 1 to 8.

As a Summer Student of these camps, you will assist the classroom teacher in planning and preparing for daily activities, assist in preparing lessons, assist in leading classroom activities, assist in running individual/small group activities and provide supervision of students.

Select Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax, Pickering, Scugog, Brock or Uxbridge


QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be enrolled in a post-secondary program for September 2024

Have a means of transportation to and from school site

Previous experience working with children is an asset
