Site Superintendent - Saskatoon, Canada - PBN Construction
Description
PBN Construction is a northern Saskatchewan Aboriginal owned company which specializes in heavy civil construction, road maintenance, and site services, which service the oil and gas, infrastructure, mining, and utility industries.
PBN is currently looking forCIVIL SITE SUPERINTENTENTS to support these areas of our business.
This position is based out of the Saskatoon, SK office but as a Site Superintendent you will need to be able to travel and work at remote sites all over Saskatchewan.
Living Out Expenses will be paid.
PBN is looking for individuals that have experience and expertise in civil construction processes including earthworks, road works, concrete, forming, and framing.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Estimates & Project Planning
- Support the Project Managers and Director of Operations in developing project proposals related to a variety of construction projects.
- Work closely with PBN Management to identify and coordinate resources (labour, equipment, material, subtrades) needed to efficiently complete projects.
- Identify constructions crews and resources required to complete projects.
- Project Execution
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of contract requirements, project specifications, project drawings, scope of work, Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) and the importance of compliance and productivity rates.
- Maintain drawing records on site (Redline/Asbuilt) and report any deviations as part of turnover package
- Supervise PBN crews and subcontractors on assigned PBN construction projects.
- Ensure construction activities are planned and communicated to construction crew in a timely manner.
- Ensure construction is completed safely and within project scope and quality requirements.
- Assist the Project Manager in maintaining the construction schedule and identify potential work efficiencies over the course of the entire project.
- Project Safety
- Ensure project/site adherence to OH&S regulations, company policies, industry standards, client policies/specifications, Site Specific Project Safety Plans.
- Identify site hazards and inform workers of the hazards. Ensure appropriate PPE is available and is correctly used to address the hazards.
- Participate in developing, implementing, and improving the Health and Safety Program, Safe Work Practices, Procedures, and Rules. Monitor compliance in their use.
- Report, Investigate and properly document all incidents within their area of responsibility
- Ensure that workers are educated in the handling and use of hazardous products. As well as identify and address any unsafe conditions and behaviours.
- Monitor fit for duty program compliance. Remain fit for duty personally.
- Ensure the proper equipment, tools and materials are maintained in a condition that will not compromise their health and safety.
- Conduct and participate in planned safety inspections, as required and report findings back HSE Manager.
- Staff Supervision & Administration
- Ensure the completion and submission of daily, weekly and monthly paperwork including, but not limited to: Daily timecards on Site Docs, Daily safety tool boxes, FLHA's, preuse equipment and vehicle inspection forms, LEMs (where applicable), daily project reports, safety inspections and others, as required. Forms
MUST be completed and submitted in adherence with internal deadlines. - Daily project reporting submitted to client with accurate accounting of labour and equipment hours
- Coding of time/equipment for any Time and Material Change Orders
- Assist PBN Management to carry out disciplinary actions with PBN employees in a progressive manner and conducting performance reviews of construction crews;
- Maintain high levels of employee morale, efficiency, and safety.
- Communication
- Build trust with clients through regular communication and pursue business development opportunities in conjunction with PBN Management.
- Regularly liaise and communicate with project stakeholders and PBN Management.
- Ensure that PBN processes are followed and documentation (i.e. timecards, incident and inspection reports, personnel forms, etc.) are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
Salary:
$38.00-$42.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Saskatoon, SK: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- construction: 5 years (preferred)
