Sustainability Associate
Reports to:
Director, Sustainability
Alamos is looking for a driven and hardworking leader to advance Alamos Gold's commitment to strong sustainability performance and transparent reporting.
We believe that building trust with internal and external partners is facilitated through clear and open disclosure of our sustainability performance.
Experience and Skills:
- Postsecondary degree in Sustainability, Business Administration, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Geoscience, or a related field;
- 35 years of relevant professional work experience;
- Deep familiarity with the GRI, SASB, TCFD, and CDP reporting frameworks;
- Outstanding decisionmaking skills, demonstrating a strategic and objective approach to challenges and opportunities;
- Excellent interpersonal and relationshipbuilding abilities with the capacity to work independently and in team environments with people at all levels;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to work in diverse cultures with tact, savvy and an understanding of differences in international business environments;
- Ability and willingness to travel; and
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead project management and continuous improvement of all Alamos ESG disclosures including data collection, content writing, report building, QA/QC, and internal approvals/signoff.
Annual disclosures include but are not limited to:
- ESG reporting;
- Climate reporting;
- Intranet and website updates (sustainabilityspecific content); and
- ESG questionnaire and survey responses to investors, analysts, and rating agencies including CDP, S&P Global, ISS, Sustainalytics, MSCI, Refinitiv, Bloomberg, VigeoEiris and others.
- Handle the daytoday management of our external reporting partners (e.g., design firms, photography, web developers);
- Build strong procedures and controls for ESG data collection, management and reporting, and craft new/improved data collection and reporting solutions;
- Lead Alamos' inaugural materiality assessment to shape ESG report content and priority topics;
- Collaborate with multiple partners and team members to collect and create content;
- Work together with the Director Environmental Sustainability on the annual update of Alamos' progress towards achieving its 2030 emission reduction goals;
- Be a champion and administrator of IsoMetrix EHS (environmental, health & safety) software by providing site support, training and accelerating useradoption of Social Sustainability and EHS modules;
- Conduct research, analysis and maintain our conformance to the evolving ESG reporting landscape (e.g., ISSB, TNFD, etc.);
- Maintain a solid understanding of ESG issues, drivers, and influences affecting the mining sector;
- Provide technical expertise and support for a variety of ESG and sustainability initiatives related to mine operations;
- Support the implementation of corporate management system elements and sustainability standards within the Alamos Sustainability Performance Management Framework; and
- Other duties and accountabilities, as needed.
