The Rotman Commerce program is offered jointly by the Rotman School of Management and the Faculty of Arts and Science.
Rotman Commerce serves approximately 3,200 in-program undergraduate business students as well as over 17,000 graduates of the Bachelor of Commerce program.

As the Career Advisor, Industry, you will work with a team of career service professionals to ensure students and recent alumni are prepared to enter the job market with confidence and a solid understanding of how their strengths, values and interests are coherent with their identity and program of study.
You will be responsible for the development of quality, high-level external partnerships within an industry sector in order to provide the highest quality career development services to students.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Advising and coaching students on developing careerrelated goals; coaching conversations may include job search, industry research, networking strategies, building a resume and cover letter, interview preparation and other employment options and strategies
- Developing and implementing programming to foster students' individual career development process; reviewing and assessing feedback received from workshops, programming and appointments
- Keeping wellinformed on industry best practices and trends by conducting market research and analysis to uncover employment opportunities
- Promoting programs and service offerings to internal and/or external contacts; including employer jobs and engagement with students
- Partnering with employers to support their Early Talent recruitment strategies, leading to establishing activities that best meet student learning needs
- Analyzing and recommending actions to increase student/employer visibility; implementing plans and process improvements for employer engagement activities
- Fostering cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts; identifying and maintaining relationships with potential and existing employers and corporate partners
- Document stakeholder interactions for future reference and ensure the Rotman Commerce Portal is well maintained
Essential Qualifications:
- Master's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience
- Minimum five (5) years fulltime, relevant, progressively more senior experience
- Previous work experience in the tech and/or telecommunications industry is preferred
- Experience facilitating and presenting; experience in coaching or advising (preferably within a university environment)
- Experience in career services or campus recruitment required
- Ability to utilize technology, including social media, as an education tool
- Experience in corporate relations or serving in a client facing capacity
- Demonstrated written, oral and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills; ability to handle a variety of projects, deadlines and schedules simultaneously and under mínimal supervision
- Collaborative team approach and positive attitude
- Outstanding customer service focus and the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people at different levels of the University and with external stakeholders is essential
- Possesses a deep, as well as broad, understanding of an assigned market sector and career options within a sector; understanding of career trends and opportunities
- Must have a good understanding of business students and employment markets
- Demonstrated decisionmaking skills in a fastpaced, dynamic environment
- Tact, discretion, and sensitivity to confidential matters
- Strong computer skills; sound working knowledge of MS Office; experience with databases and Content Management Systems
- Ability to work outside of normal office hours for event support
