We are recruiting for a Retail & Experience Team Leader to join our team

The Retail & Experience Team Leader focuses on creating memorable guest experiences and achieving daily sales targets for wine and Wine Club sales within the wine retail boutique.

This role motivates and mentor's property Associates to achieve/exceed all assigned business targets and is regularly called upon to execute opening and closing of the property.

Wayne Gretzky Estates Winery and Distillery is part of the APL family, located in the heart of Niagara-on-the-Lake wine country.

The 23,000-square foot facility nestled amongst the grapevines is the first combined winery, brewery and distillery in Ontario, inviting guests to join in a celebration of Canadian wine, Canadian whisky, Craft Beer, and Canadian culture.

This teammate will be accountable for:

Achieves/exceeds assigned Wine Club membership targets
Maximizes revenues per guest transaction (including upselling) via a solid understanding of:
property wines, beers and spirits / accessories / experiences / Wine Club membership benefits / events

- all Estate Wine Group properties and Andrew Peller Limited Wine Shop locations

Facilitates guided tour and experiences for property guests
Assists with processing guest sales (via POS system) and with Guest Relations bookings/reservations (via internal reservations systems) when required
Understands and adheres to cash control procedures and retail inventory control procedures (receiving, ordering, promotions, stocking, experience writeoffs); assists with monthly retail inventory process
Occasionally assists retail management team with general retail/tour/experience administrative duties
Follows safe work procedures/practices; reports any unsafe working conditions/hazards to assigned Manager on Duty
Responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the store product/tour route/experience locations at all times

We are looking for a teammate with:

Demonstrated Guest/Customer service excellence focus
Postsecondary wine education an asset
Experience working with computer based point of sale systems and handling cash
Ability to recognize when guests and team members would benefit from support and assistance; contributing to others' initiatives without having to be asked
Smart Serve Certification
First Aid certification an asset
