Position Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced and results-driven Manager to oversee operations, reporting directly to the Director of Operations.


As the Manager you will play a pivotal role in the successful implementation of all services, with a focus on meeting the physical, emotional, social, and health and safety needs of the individuals we support.

You will be accountable for ensuring that the services provided align with the unique needs of each individual, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.


What you will do
Under the direction of the Director of Operations or designate, the Manager is responsible and accountable for:

  • The safety, security, welfare and quality of life of the individuals we support.
  • The smooth and efficient operation of the program(s) assigned.
  • Fostering positive professional relationships with the individuals we support, employees, families, and members of the community.
  • Ensuring program(s) meet or exceed the requirements of all pertinent local, provincial and federal legislation, MCSS requirements and OCL policies, procedures, guidelines, etc.

What you need to succeed

  • Experience or qualifications in the development, monitoring, and coordinating of individuals'/participants' programs
  • Individual Service Plan (ISP), (Annual Person-Centered Reviews).
  • Individualfocused; committed to improving quality of life, individual and family rights and community participation. (person centered approaches)
  • Demonstrated maturity, sound judgment, and understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a Manager.
  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork, a positive attitude, creative, personable, enthusiastic, excellent problemsolving, ability to think outside the box, change agent, program development.
  • Leads by example. Highly reliable, excellent organization, planning, time management and followthrough, ability to multitask, excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Full availability this position requires flexible hours, On-Call availability, emergency or crisis response, covering any and all programs, and required attendance at some functions within or outside OCL.
  • Fully function with Microsoft Office 36
  • Knowledge and experience in principles, practices, trends, and research related to diversity, equity, and inclusion is an asset.

Education and experience
-
Academic Qualifications:A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in developmental services or a related social sciences field is required.

Preferred Experience:Previous management experience, especially within a non-profit agency supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, is considered a valuable asset.


What you need to know and have

Clearance Requirements: Clear Police Records Check for the Vulnerable sector.

Driving Qualifications:Valid Driver's License (Ontario G, note G2 not accepted) and Proof of an insurable driving record.

Language Proficiency:English fluency in understanding, speaking, and writing.

Health and Safety: Able to perform lifts and physical restraints. Standard First Aid/CPR certification prior to the start date. Completion of an OCL health/immunization assessment form prior to the start date. Full COVID-19 vaccination in accordance with OCL policy.
