    Role Description

    This is a remote contract role for a Senior Mortgage Underwriter. As a Senior Mortgage Underwriter, you will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks associated with mortgage underwriting. This includes carefully analyzing mortgage applications, assessing risk factors, verifying documentation, determining eligibility, and making informed decisions on loan approvals. As a key member of the team, you will collaborate with mortgage brokers and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth processing and closing of mortgage applications. Compensation will be based on a commission split per deal completed.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 5 years credit experience (no exceptions)
    • Mortgage Industry, Mortgage Underwriting, and Underwriting skills
    • Experience in analyzing and evaluating mortgage applications
    • Strong knowledge of mortgage products and lending guidelines
    • Analytical skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to make sound decisions based on risk assessment
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work independently and remotely
    • Experience with mortgage software systems (FINMO & BluMortgage CRM is preferred)
    • Certifications or training in mortgage underwriting
