We're currently looking for anInjury Management Specialist to join our team
remotely in Canada. This position will partner and add value to our clients through the effective management of occupational (WCB) Claims.
Outcomes
- Effective and professional communication with WCB, employer and workers
- Work cooperatively with the WCB, employer and employees to positively impact a claim
- Educate workers and employers on their responsibilities, obligations under the WCB Act and related policies
- Develop and understand the value proposition to our clients
- Proactively manage a caseload through early intervention
- Building successful relationships to assist in claims management process
Responsibilities
- Proactively collect and evaluate relevant information and documentation from workplace parties
- Contacts employees within 24 hours of receiving report of Injury Form, explaining the role of DMI, and collects pertinent information
- Prepares and submits Form 7 to WCB for lost time injuries and medical aid.
- Communicates with WCB, employer and workers on a regular basis
- Charts communication in Disability Management System
- Proactively manage a caseload through early intervention
- Assist workers and employers to develop return to work plans
- Reviews WCB correspondence and determines next steps
- Liaises with the provincial Workers' Compensation Boards
- Provides claim updates to clients as required
Education & Experience
- Demonstrated understanding of WBC policy and practices.
- Experience in disability management or return to work is an asset but not required.
