    This initiative is in support of Yukon government's goal for a representative public service. This posting is to fill one 1-year Term, anticipatory permanent. Temporary Assignments may also be considered.
    The Intergovernmental Relations Branch is a division of the Executive Council Office.

    We coordinate and lead the Yukon government's intergovernmental relations activities, including relationships between Yukon and provincial, territorial, federal and international governments and the advancement of government priorities through these engagements.

    We support Yukon government intergovernmental policy initiatives, events, and matters of protocol.

    This position is responsible for researching, developing, and analyzing government initiatives to support the advancement of Yukon's interests with other governments and to provide policy and strategic advice on intergovernmental relations.

    The Analyst will engage within the Yukon government and with other governments on Yukon priorities and will gain exposure to a wide range of domestic and international relations policy issues across the Intergovernmental Relations Branch portfolio.

    Bachelor's degree in political science, public administration, communications or a related field, or a suitable combination of education and experience.

    Significant experience preparing written briefing materials, position papers, and/or policy documents, and delivering briefings to senior management and/or elected officials.

    Significant experience analyzing complex and sensitive issues and providing advice to senior management and/or elected officials.

    Experience in intergovernmental relations and negotiations, including support for federal-provincial-territorial or other multilateral tables, would be considered an asset.

    Must hold a valid Canadian passport.
