Job Summary


The Part-time Night Auditor is responsible for verifying the correctness of guest accounts by balancing each department's income and posting room, tax, and local phone charges to guest folios.


General Shift - Friday and Saturday 11 pm to 7 am:


Training:
For the completion of the training, you will be required to do some AM shifts and PM shifts. After the completion of the training, you will continue with the General Shift mentioned above.


Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Uses suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms and promote other hotel services.
  • Posts and files all charges to guest, master, and city ledger accounts.
  • Uses proper telephone etiquette.
  • Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager or assistant manager.
  • Knows all safety and emergency procedures. Is aware of accident prevention policies.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk area.
  • Handover shift logbook
  • Follow night audit procedures
  • Follow checkin procedures
  • Guest Satisfaction and communication Assign rooms in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Records and makes all wakeup calls in an appropriate manner.
  • Must have complete knowledge of policies and procedures to follow in an emergency.
  • Handles all internal control items as hotel policies and procedures dictate.
  • Set up breakfast where applicable
  • Mining for gold, internet prospecting

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Experience (13 years) in the hospitality industry is considered a strong asset.
  • Basic accounting skills would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and administration skills.
  • Proficiency/familiarity with computerized systems; MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Ability to gather, compare, analyze and present data.
  • Ability to deal with all levels of management and staff in a professional manner

  • Ability to multitask and work within deadlines.

Mental Effort

  • Mental and visual concentration during computer work daily, for accuracy in data entry and editing.
  • Mental effort required in multitasking and handling interruptions that require refocusing.
  • Listening and mental attentiveness in fulfilling guests requirements.
  • Periods of mental and visual concentration required for preparing, reviewing, and analyzing reconciliations and reports.

Physical Effort

  • Performs computer work daily.

Working Conditions

  • Infrequent handling of queries and calls from guests, and property staff.
  • Works a night, alone with minimum supervision and with no coworkers.

Type of Supervision Required
Reports to the hotel Front Office or General Manager. Works under general instructions to prioritize and complete assigned tasks.
