The Opportunity:
The Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation (MSH Foundation) is seeking a Community Giving Coordinator to manage key components of the Foundation's community fundraising initiatives, support the database and online platforms, and provide support to Director, Community Giving.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Donor Engagement
Provide primary reception coverage ensuring an excellent level of customer service to all donors, visitors, board members, volunteers and other stakeholders including answering and directing all inbound calls and greeting visitors.
Respond to, or direct appropriately, general foundation, hospital and donor inquiries and ensure consistent and appropriate messaging and escalate as appropriate including notifying hospital patient relations of any hospital matters.
Make welcome / retention calls and track accordinglyAssist with donor recognition and stewardship initiatives including data projects related to updating donor listings, mailings coordination, and tracking RSVPs.
Gift & Donor Administration
Coordinate daily mail collection, financial deposits and distribution including collecting, opening and distributing inbound mail, recording and arranging postage of outbound mail, accepting and arranging deliveries and couriers.
Promptly and appropriately acknowledge all donations including generating and mailing thank you letters and tax receipts, acknowledgement cards, certificates and welcome packages including responding to donor inquiries.
Support monthly donor and one-time gift donation administration through providing prompt donor follow up and accurate tracking to minimize revenue loss and donor attrition.
Support Raiser's Edge database projects to maintain database integrity including updating donor records, ensuring address accuracy, entering responses from donor preferences and statistical surveys and other projects as assigned.
Foundation Wide SupportCoordinate and track the distribution of Foundation materials across the hospital and community as required.
Provide general administrative support to the Support Services team including meeting coordination, visa reconciliation, expense coding, mailing coordination and other special projects as assigned.
Coordinate office maintenance to ensure that the Foundation maintains a safe, clean and professional work place including liaising with the Property Manager to coordinate office repairs, moves, installations, cleaning issues, etc.
and work with the Management team on space planning and storage needs as required.Coordinate purchases, facilitate maintenance and track inventory of Foundation wide and Donor Engagement specific supplies and equipment to maintain a healthy stock and maintain expenses per budget.
Position Qualifications
A university degree or college diploma in related field with a minimum 1-2 years experience in fundraising, with particular emphasis on annual giving and direct marketing (ie: direct mail, telefundraising, multi-channel direct marketing campaigns, etc.).
Strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to persuasively convey the mission to diverse groups including donors, community leaders, physicians, Board members and others who are important to the organization's overall prosperity.
Knowledge of Raiser's Edge.Aptitude for technology with ability to learn and effectively use new systems proficiently. HTML and graphic design an asset.
Proficient in Blackbaud Luminate fundraising platform or other online fundraising platform.
Self-starter, motivated to take on new initiatives and open to taking informed risks with sound judgment, tact and diplomacy.
Ability to organize and manage a diverse range of assignments and projects with high efficiency, meticulous attention to detail and adaptable to changing priorities and demand.
Resourceful and independent, yet comfortable working within a team environment where sharing ideas and building on learnings and each other's experiences and strengths is encouraged.
Work Schedule & Requirements:
Available to work Monday-Friday, 7.5 hour shifts.
Schedules may change based on operational needs.
